5000 Series Rotary Joints

The 5000 Series rotary joint is a self-supported steam and water joint designed for paper machine dryer cylinders and off-machine super calenders operating under extreme conditions of speed and temperature. The unique roll-mounted body reduces impact forces on the bearings by up to 50%. In the unlikely event of a main seal failure, back-up seals protect the bearings and prevent heavy leakage. The patented safety-clutch mechanism, a Kadant Johnson exclusive, provides added assurance and protection against catastrophic failure of the equipment.

The 5750SBAF model includes a cantilever stationary syphon designed for open gear paper machines operating up to 915 mpm (3,000 fpm).
